The events that have taken place during the past days and weeks have been unprecedented for our counties, state, and country. I want to encourage everyone to stay calm and take the necessary precautions to help ensure your health. Please click on this link for information about the steps you can take to help protect you and your family's health during this time.

Southwire along with our partnered school systems Carroll County, Carrollton City, Haralson County, and Heard County are working diligently to communicate with everyone when new information is made available. Also, please visit your school district’s website frequently for new information about E-Learning and school nutrition programs.

For 12-for-Life students, Southwire has graciously decided to pay all current 12-for-Life students their regular pay for the next two weeks. If school closures extend beyond two weeks, we will communicate any additions to the current plan. 12-for-life has a small pantry with food, toiletries, school supplies, and clothing. Currently, 12-for-Life students will have access to the pantry on Thursday’s when they pick up their paychecks. If you know of any additional needs of 12-for-Life students, please contact us.

Parents, please encourage your child to complete their E-learning assignments. Teachers within each of our partnering systems are working very hard to help students continue their learning while school is closed. We do understand that E-Learning is limited to those households that have internet at home or a cellular device that is receiving adequate cellular service. We will work with students who do not have internet or cellular service. For those who do not have internet service, please visit your district’s website and have your child communicate via email with their teachers. School systems are providing learning-packets for students who do not have internet.

We will communicate with everyone when new information is made available. Continue to monitor your school district’s website for any new updates and be expecting email communication from your district also. 12-for-Life will also be posting information on our Facebook page and Instagram. If there is anything that our staff can do to help with the needs of your child, please let us know. We will work to help in every way we can.

Sincerely,

Joel Grubbs
